Departure

Departure - June 10, 2010

Saint Egrève, 4:00 a.m. this is the big departure. Everything has been loading Franck’s truck during the night, now taking the direction of Grenoble’s train station, where Denis, Colette, Yvon, Christophe, Nolwen, Sarah, Lislor are waiting.

Transfer of the “tons” of luggage in the TGV (High Speed Train) going to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport : six very big bags for the bicycles and the trailer, and eight bags for the remaining luggage.
A few hours to try to rest a little bit. Then at the airport, again multiple transfer of luggage.
Two hours of waiting before opening of registration, and going “on the other side”

What follows is in the e-mail sent by Marie-Claude from Halifax, with pictures.

Halifax

Halifax

Hello,
We arrived to our destination, with several periods of turbulence, which did not make us laugh…
At 11:00 p.m. June 10th, (4:00 a.m. June 11th French time) we are “squatting” a remote area in Halifax airport to assemble the bicycles. We are going veeeerrrrrry slowly, as we are burned-out (having slept only five hours since June 9).
The kids are sleeping on the ground. As soon as the day will break, we will try to find a camping place very close to alight on, and think about the continuation.
These are the fresh news (but we’re not !)
Marie-Claude

Where are we?
